Facing Animals (2012)

Why do we look away from millions of animals in industrial farms while pampering and humanizing others? In the film Facing Animals pigs, chickens, cows and dogs are the protagonists, humans are the antagonist. We see the world from the perspective of the animals: chicks are thrown onto a conveyor belt, a lady is cuddling a cow in a meadow, piglets are screaming while their tails are cut off, dogs are blessed in a church. The stunning, often confronting, visuals take the viewer on a roller coaster of emotions. It becomes clear how complex and often bizarre the relationship between man and animal is.

The End Of Meat - Eine Welt ohne Fleisch (2017)

Although evidence of meat consumption's negative impact on the planet and on human health continue stacking up as animal welfare is on the decline, humanity's love affair with hamburgers, steaks, nuggets and chops just doesn’t end. In Germany, home of bratwurst and schnitzel, meat is an integral part of the diet. That is, until a few years ago, when perceptions somewhat evolved. Health concerns and meat scandals led to a public debate about the ethical implications of meat consumption and the rise of plant-based diets. Meat producers launched their own vegan products; 100% vegan supermarkets opened; and almost every food manufacturer was adding and labeling vegan options. Is this the beginning of the end of meat? Are we approaching a turning point in the human-animal relationship?

Ireland's Fur Trade (2017)

This is a documentary exploring the fur industry and trade in Ireland. Currently, there are three fur farms in the Republic housing roughly between 100,000-150,000 mink and there are at least dozens of shops selling real fur across the country. In 2010, the Irish gov't pledged to ban fur farming but after the collapse of a Fianna Fáil-led coalition in 2011, Fine Gael scrapped the proposal and it's back to square one. However, active efforts demanding both a ban on fur farming and to convince shops to remove the sale of fur continue.
