Eat Less Meat: It's Costing the Earth (2004)

This video and the accompanying report argue that rising meat consumption is putting unsustainable pressure on the earth's resources of land, water and energy; diverts grain needed to feed people to use as animal feed, damaging food security; leads to deforestation as land is cleared for pasture or to grow crops to feed animals; contributes to global warming and 'acid rain'; encourages intensive farming systems which do not meet the welfare needs of animals; has negative implications for human health. It argues for decision makers and consumers in the developed world to reduce dependence on animal products. It argues for a more moderate consumption of meat, and for that meat to be produced using humane and sustainable production methods.
